As a restorative and cosmetic dentist, photography is an invaluable tool for diagnosis and patient communication. Through photography, I often see something that is missed in an X-ray, digital or 3D scan. As part of an initial evaluation, I will take a series twenty images—each offering unique pieces of information—from three vantage points— from the front and each side. There is also a joy in taking a portrait when patient has completed treatment and can’t wait to show world, and why I have a small portrait studio in my office. It’s a celebration!

This is the camera I use for every patient in their initial evaluation.
